| WATER STREET MARKET SUMMER SERIES
JUNE THROUGH AUGUST This will be our second of what we plan to many seasons of summer series events. One of our goals here at Water Street Market is to hold events which support sustainability, while providing thought provoking ideas and creating a cohesive community. We strive to support locally owned businesses and the environment, while fostering community and acting as a catalyst to local charities. Our courtyard setting has been often compared to a typical piazza in Italy, a place where locals come to co-mingle, eat, celebrate, collaborate, etc. Throughout the summer we see this take place each week at our free weekly events. |

MORE ON-GOING EVENTS AT WATER STREET MARKET DECEMBER SECOND ANNUAL HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER, DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED.... In the spirit of giving last season Water Street Market hosted a holiday fundraiser and tree lighting. Despite the cold, several families with their pets and children came out to sit with Santa and donate their winter apparel to Family of New Paltz. For every photo taken, Water Street Market donated $3 to St. Joseph’s Food Pantry and with over 100 photos taken we were able to donate $375. We also collected close to 100 coats to help keep those in need warm this winter. |

JANUARY SECOND ANNUAL HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER, DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED.... Twenty local family and business contestants brought their best chili concoctions incorporating at least three local ingredients to our winter fundraiser. A local panel of judges chose the best meat, veggie and restaurant chili, based on taste, texture and effort for use of seasonal local products. The community had their say as well, by putting their poker chip into the canning jar of their favorite contestant. Winners received certify-checks to use around town, gift certificates to the Water Street Market and a dinner for two at Mohonk Mountain House. No one expected such an outpouring on a windy, cold January day! Hundreds of folks came out to taste the chili and make their donations to the St. Joseph’s Food Pantry. $910 was raised so Water Street Market added to the donation to make it an even $1,000 which will provide food for hundreds of local families. |
